The preliminary round will be held in northern, central and southern Vietnam with around 15 candidates in each region. The final round will be held in Hanoi with ten candidates selected from the preliminary round.

Participating candidates should be tour guides who are member of a local tourism agency.

The fair, co-organised by the provincial Industry and Trade Department and the Fair and Trade Joint Stock Company VIASI, aims to introduce the provincial trade and tourism potentials to promote economic and commercial cooperation.

It also helps create opportunities for domestic and foreign businesses to enter the provincial market and the border economy.

The fair displayed various kinds of trade-tourism products, including counterfeits and low quality commodities to help customers distinguish goods on sale in the local market.

The organisers hope to improve public awareness of environmental matters and to encourage people from all walks of life to join forces in protecting the environment and reducing the impacts of climate change.

Entries can be in black and white or colour and must have been taken between 2005 and now.

The deadline for entries is February 16, 2009 and the winners will be announced later the same month.
