Lotus Art Troupe from Guangxi-China to perform at Hanoi Opera HouseOn the evening of June 12th at Hanoi Opera House, there will be a performance of the Lotus Art Troupe from Guangxi-China coming to Vietnam to participate in Hue Festival 2008. Founded in 2004, the Lotus Art Troupe from Guangxi is a provincial art group which gathers many famous and outstanding artists from various types of art such as singing and dancing, circus and traditional opera of China. Through its art, the Lotus Art Troupe has formed a typical art style of the South of China. Over the past years, the delegation has represented China in international art festivals in France and Thailand. The artists of the troupe will offer a series of exceptional acts, particularly the play Da con xuat tuong (Stick fighting) which has been performed numerous times at the Welcoming Spring Gala of Chinese Central Television and was recognized as an excellent performance in the second Chinese Traditional Opera Festival. In this play, martial arts opera performers will showcase the traditional opera art, namely Dieu Tuong Cong, which is an extremely difficult martial arts technique of Chinese Opera Drama. In addition, the play Ti muoi du xuan (Elder and younger sisters enjoying a spring walk) gained first prize at the national Pink Apricot Awards and the circus act Vien trac luu bang (Roller-skating on round table) awarded a gold medal by the Red Bronze Drum prize of Guangxi will be also performed.
