Vietnam to join Brest Festival 2008Vietnam will for the first time join the Brest Festival 2008, a maritime festival of France, from July 11-17 at the invitation of the festival’s organisation board. The northern port city of Haiphong will represent Vietnam to take part in the event. The Vietnamese delegation is expected to showcase at the event the country’s particular sea products and vehicles such as a 17- ton sailing boat, five small bamboo crafts, five coracles and five imperial boats which will be rowed by sailors in ancient clothes. The festival, the biggest of its kind in Europe, is held every four years in the Brest City of France and attracts participation of millions of tourists and 26 countries worldwide. (Source: VNA) |
