On display at the exhibition are 140 photos and documentaries reflecting two main themes: “The Great Spring Victory 1975: The Strength of National Unity in the Ho Chi Minh Era” and “Building prosperity in HCMC.”

The show seeks to remind city dwellers of the indomitable soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the resounding victory of the Ho Chi Minh era and the socio-economic progress in the city in the 35 year since the war.

The exhibition will continue until May 15./.

As one of the highlights of “Vietnam-China Friendship Year’ and an activity to celebrate the 60 th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic ties, the exchange aims to strengthen the fine traditional friendship between Vietnam and China in general and their ethnic youth in particular.

Minister-Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Giang Seo Phu affirmed that the programme is a good chance for ethnic youth in the two countries to further strengthen mutual understanding and trust, boosting their relationship for mutual benefit and stable development.

During the five-day programme, the Chinese delegation will attend friendship exchange activities in Hanoi , Thai Nguyen and Quang Ninh provinces.

During their visit, the travel industry professionals will conduct an informational tour of Danang golf course, Hoang Dat Casino, and the Ba Na tourism site and work with municipal officials to explore the tourism potential of the city in particular and of the central region of Vietnam in general.

Danang will have more chances to welcome Japanese visitors thanks to the direct air route from Osaka, which used to be served only by sea.

The city plans to open Japanese language courses for tour guides to serve the increasing number of visitors from Japan.

On the same day, the Seabourn Odessey cruise liner arrived with 352 holiday makers, mostly from the UK and the US, raising the total number of foreign tourists to Danang Province in the first two months this year to 6,477.

The city plans to receive 70 thousands visitors on the occasion of the international fireworks display on March 27 and 28.

The construction project with a combined investment capital of USD15 million includes 80 two-storey houses scattered throughout the forest.

Dang Minh Truong, Chairman of the company’s Management Board, said that the village is designed to revive an old resort whose facilities date back to the early 20th century. The resort was considered the largest resort paradise in Indochina at that time.

Apart from the village, the company is building an entertainment park boasting a 3D cinema, a snow city, game centres and artificial mountains for climbers, Truong said, expecting the USD25-million park will be completed at the end of next March.

Located 46km southwest of the central coast city of Danang, Ba Na is endowed with a mild climate and beautiful natural scenery. The French colonials discovered the area in 1901 and built a dozen villas exclusively for their officials.

Ba Na in 1986 was recognised by the state as a natural reserve with rare fauna and flora in need of protection such as bassia, perfumed wood and pheinardia ocellata.

At present, Ba Na is one of the most famous tourism and resort sites in Vietnam
