This program aims at raising and standardizing tourism service quality in Ho Chi Minh City as well as attracting domestic and international tourists.

Taking part the program, tourists will have opportunity to vote the most interesting things in Ho Chi Minh City based on the norms from organization board such as: national character, differences of Ho Chi Minh City, tourists’ psychology and taste, food safety, service quality…

After collecting and classifying, the organization board will promulgate result to the public.

In an opening speech, a representative of the district people’s committee highlighted the history, tradition, lifestyle and distinctive cultural identities of different ethnic groups in the district and the province.

Visitors were treated to a special performance given by artists from the provincial performance troupe and villages in the district. They also had the chance to enjoy folk games, including crossbow shooting and tug of war, and to take in the beauty of local flower varieties at a flower market fair.

On April 30, the Sapa Cloudy Festival began on Ham Rong Mountain, about 1,700m above sea level.

They visited the Cham Sculpture Art Museum, Marble Mountains, Son Tra Peninsular, beaches and other tourist sights.

They all promised to introduce Danang’s tourism potential in Hong Kong newspapers and magazines, hoping to attract more visitors from Hong Kong to Danang. To accommodate the increase, the aviation sector is expected to open a Hong Kong-Danang air route soon.

The seminar is part of a cooperation programme between the Hue Imperial Relics Preservation Centre (HIRPC) and the Japanese Waseda University’s UNESCO World Heritage Institute.

“This is the third time the HIRPC has held such a seminar to introduce the results of the programme’s activities as well as research results to serve the Can Chanh Palace restoration project,” said its Director Phung Phu.

The first seminar took place in Hue city in 1997 and the second in Hanoi in 2006, he added.

The programme, which was carried out since 1994, is designed to conduct comprehensive research on Hue relics and provide scientific foundations for sustainable preservation and restoration of these relics, including the Can Chanh Palace.

The Thua Thien-Hue Provincial People’s Committee is proposing the Japanese Government to provide non-refundable official development assistance (ODA) capital to the Can Chanh Palace restoration project for the 2010-2015 period.
