The three-day show, where 100 photos are on display, is part of ATF 2009 will take place in Hanoi in January 2009. It is expected to give foreign friends an insight into Vietnam with beautiful landscapes, hospitable, people, economic development, political stability and international integration.

The photos were provided by the Film, Sports and Tourism Centre, the Vietnam News Agency and the Vietnam Photographic Artists’ Association.

The poems have been carved onto various media, including earthenware, precious stones and statues of celebrities, and include works by famous poets, such as Xuan Dieu and The Lu, as well as 200 young poets.

Superior Bonze Thich Nhuan Tam, head of the organising board, said that the event, co-sponsored by the Van Hanh Zen Seminary, the La (Leaf) Pagoda and the Mekong Arts, aims to encourage young poets to pick up their pens and increase their contributions to the nation’s literature.

Twenty-six French language lecturers from universities in Hanoi, Hue, Danang and Nha Trang cities as well as six foreign lecturers from Thailand, Cambodia and Laos are attending the four-day course.

The trainees will learn about social environment of tourism, basic concepts of French for tourism and methods of selecting teaching materials, and tapping supplemental sources, such as the internet and other media.

The training programme aims to bolster the lecturers’ knowledge of the language needs in the tourism sector, and develop the teaching of French for tourism at language faculties at universities in Vietnam and other regional countries.

The course is jointly organised by the HCMC Pedagogical University, the Francophone Organisation and the Francophone University Agency with support from the French Embassy in Vietnam.

The issue includes articles by both Vietnamese and RoK economic and cultural experts and researchers about Vietnamese economy, investment and culture.

It also gathered writings by RoK officials working at the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and RoK entrepreneurs who are doing their business in Vietnam, giving readers a clearer picture of Vietnam - a country with strong development potential and an attractive investment destination.

The issue provided a detailed introduction on cultural exchange between Vietnam and the RoK.

The Dong-a newspaper also published a manual “Vietnamese-Korean language for daily activities” serving RoK-Vietnamese families.
